Visa Policy

Following Visa Policy is valid since January 3, 2001 but may change during the year. Contact the nearest Czech Embassy for the detailed and up to date information before your trip there.

Citizens of the US and other more than 50 countries do not need visa to visit the Czech Republic for a limited period of time (usually 90 days), if the purpose of their visit is tourism or business. Other foreign visitors are required to have visa.

No visa can be obtained at the border or at the airports. The maximum length of any individual stay in the Czech Republic based on a visa is 90 days. The visa may be used at any time within 6 months from the date of issue. Bearer of Czech tourist visa must register at any Czech Immigration Police Station within 3 days after arrival in the Czech Republic. Visitors staying in hotels are registered automatically. The Main Immigration Police Office is located at Olsanska 2, Praha 3.

No vaccination certificates are required unless coming from an infected area. Import of gifts is permitted without duty and VAT if the quantity and value do not exceed 6000 Kc ($170.00).



 

Single Entry Visa Fees

A single entry visa for a period of stay not exceeding 90 days costs $21. Special rates for citizens of: Australia $37, Belarus $11, China $43, Colombia $37, Congo Democratic Republic $61, Ethiopia $56, Georgia $43, Guatemala $8, India $32, Iraq $37, Kenya $48, Kuwait $35, Libya $45, Nepal $29, Nigeria $33, Russia $32, Taiwan $32, Turkey $11, Venezuela $24, Uganda $27, Ukraine $27, United Arab Emirates $27, Uzbekistan $43 and Vietnam $40.

There is no visa fee for children under 15 years of age and citizens of the following countries: Afghanistan, Albania, Bolivia, Ecuador, Hong Kong, Macao, Guinea, Mauritius, Maldives, Pakistan, Seychelles, South Africa and Sri Lanka.


Multiple Entry Visa Fees

A multiple entry visa for a period of stay not exceeding 90 days costs $80. Special rates for citizens of: Australia $37, Belarus $48, Brazil $48, China $74, Colombia $74, Congo Democratic Republic $186, Ethiopia $74, Georgia $117, Iraq $71, Kenya $106, Kuwait $69, Libya $106, Nepal $85, Nigeria $66, Russia $53, Taiwan $61, Uganda $53, Ukraine $106, United Arab Emirates $64, Uzbekistan $56, Venezuela $45 and Vietnam $69


Transit Visa

This type of visa is used for transit through the territory of the Czech Republic. The transit visa is valid up to 90 days and the requirements are basically the same as for a visa for period up to 90 days. In addition, the applicant must have in his/her passport a valid visa to enter the country of final destination and/or all other transit countries. The time-limit for one transit is 5 days.

Single entry transit visa allows one to enter once and travel through the Czech Republic. The maximum length of the stay is 5 days. The price is $21. Special rates for citizens of: Congo Democratic Republic $37.

Double entry transit visa allows double transits through the Czech Republic. The maximum length of each stay is 5 days. The visa fee is $32.Special rates for citizens of : Australia $37, Belarus $21, China $53, Colombia $56, Congo $74, Ethiopia $64, Georgia $27, Iraq $74, Kenya $60, Kuwait $51, Libya $90, Nigeria $48, Russia $40, Taiwan $45, Uganda $$36, Ukraine $32, United Arab Emirates $53, Uzbekistan $27 and Vietnam $51.

Multiple entry transit visa allows multiple transits through the Czech Republic. The maximum length of each stay is 5 days. The visa fee is $80.
